Line Drawing Dry Land (Imperial Sea) is part of a larger body of work that explores time, metamorphosis, and existence. This series illuminates precipices in the vast and unearthly Bad Lands of Anza Borrego, where the highlighted edges demarcate the stark and confounding contrast between the hospitable and completely inhospitable parts of this land, once a thriving marine ecosystem ten to fifteen millions years ago. The Badlands are a preserved time capsule, an amalgam of geological forces foreshadowing the changes to come.
